হরিতকি এক ধরনের ঔষধি ফল। এটি ট্যানিন, অ্যামাইনো এসিড, ফ্রুকটোজ ও বিটা সাইটোস্টেবল সমৃদ্ধ একটি ফল। হরিতকি দেহের রক্ত পরিষ্কার করে; একইসঙ্গে দেহের শক্তি বৃদ্ধি করে। এটা রক্তচাপ ও অন্ত্রের খিঁচুনি কমায়।
হৃদপিণ্ড ও অন্ত্রের অনিয়ম দূর করে হরিতকি। এটি পরজীবীনাশক, পরিবর্তনসাধক, অন্ত্রের খিঁচুনি রোধক এবং স্নায়ুবিক শক্তিবর্ধক। হরিতকি কোষ্ঠকাঠিন্য, স্নায়ুবিক দুর্বলতা, অবসাদ এবং অধিক ওজনের চিকিৎসায় ব্যবহৃত হয়।
ঔষধি ব্যবহার
১) অর্শ রোগে হরিতকি চূর্ণ তিন থেকে পাঁচ গ্রাম পরিমাণ ঘোলের সঙ্গে একটু লবণ মিশিয়ে খেলে সেরে যাবে।
২) রক্তার্শে আখের গুড়ের সঙ্গে হরিতকি গুঁড়া মিশিয়ে খেলে কয়েকদিনের মধ্যেই সুফল পাওয়া যায়।
৩) চোখের রোগের ক্ষেত্রে হরিতকি ছেঁচে পানিতে ভিজিয়ে সেই পানি দিয়ে চোখ ধুতে হবে।
৪) পিত্ত বেদনায় সামান্য গাওয়া ঘিয়ের সঙ্গে হরিতকি গুঁড়া সেবন করতে হয়।
৫) গলার স্বর বসে গেলে মুথা ও হরিতকি চূর্ণ মধুর সঙ্গে বেটে অথবা যোয়ানের সঙ্গে পান করলে স্বর স্বাভাবিক হয়।
৬) হরিতকি ফল হৃদরোগ, বদহজম, আমাশয়, জন্ডিস এবং ঋতুস্রাবের ব্যথায় খাওয়ানো হয়।
৭) ফলের রস জ্বর, কাশি, হাঁপানি, পেট ফাঁপা, ঢেকুর উঠা, বর্ধিত যকৃত ও প্লীহা, বাতরোগ ও মূত্রনালীর অসুখেও বিশেষ উপকারী।
৮) কাঁচা ফল রেচক হিসেবে কাজ করে।
৯) আধুনিক ভেষজ চিকৎসকরা ফুঁসফুঁস ও শ্বাসনালীঘটিত রোগে হরিতকি বহুল ব্যবহার করে থাকেন। কাশি ও শ্বাসকষ্টে হরিতকি খুবই কর্যকর।
১০) এছাড়া, ঘন ঘন পানির তৃষ্ণা কিংবা বমি বমি ভাব কাটাতেও হরিতকি ব্যবহৃত হয়।
১১) ত্রিফলা অর্থাৎ আমলকি, হরিতকি ও বহেরা এর প্রতিটির সমপরিমাণ গুঁড়ার শরবত কোলেস্টেরল কমাবার অর্থাৎ প্রেসার বা রক্তচাপ কমাবার মহৌষধ। এক ওষুধ গবেষক দলের মতে, আধুনিক যে কোন এ্যালোপ্যাথিক ঔষধের তুলনায় ত্রিফলা কোলেস্টেরল কমাবার ক্ষেত্রে অনেক বেশি ফলপ্রসূ।

ঔষধি ব্যবহার
